Artist Statement
Jen Lados is a mixed media artist whose vibrant, multi-layered canvases invite viewers into a sophisticated yet playful exploration of life and the world around us. Her work blends humor, curiosity, and emotional depth through the use of diverse materials—pastels, ink, paint, texture mediums, cardboard, photos, and fabric—reflecting her belief in experimentation, exploration, and play as the foundation of creativity. Deeply inspired by pop culture, empowerment, nature, and nostalgia, Jen's art celebrates both the whimsy and wonder of everyday life.
Artist Bio
A former art instructor at Lake Erie Arts Academy in Port Dover, she has over 25 years of experience in the visual arts as an educator, exhibitor, and creative collaborator. Jen's artwork has been featured in juried exhibitions, competitions, and collaborative projects, and is held in numerous galleries, museums, and private and corporate collections across Ontario, throughout Canada, and internationally. She has been a proud participant in the Norfolk Studio Tour since 2010.
