Artist Statement

The main focus of my art is portraiture: I paint portraits in acrylic on canvas or board, the majority of which are mounted in antique frames sourced from local shops and antique markets. The art is both organic and technical, with emphasis on perspective, scale and harmony.

Artist Bio

Heather Verplanke was born in Brantford, ON and currently works out of her studio space in Port Dover. She has had showings at several art galleries including the Light House Festival Theater, the Waterford Old Town Hall and Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brantford.
